Children’s Education

Criteria

If you have a postgraduate degree level qualification or the equivalent level qualification (level 7 on the education framework), you may apply for a grant/gift to help with your children’s education, if you fulfil the following criteria:

Are aged over 18 years
Are permanently resident in the UK and have recourse to public funds/state benefits
Have claimed, or are in the process of claiming, all benefits to which you are entitled
Have a genuine welfare need (for example: negative budget, housing insecurity, health related financial strain, caring responsibilities).
Have already applied to your own occupational benevolent fund for assistance (if applicable) and be able to demonstrate evidence of this
Have less than £6,000 in savings if you are under pension credit age and less than £10,000 if over pension credit age
Have a genuine welfare need (for example: Negative balance, housing insecurity, health related financial strain, caring responsibilities).
